Augustus O. Thomas to Rev. Alexander MacDonald Letter, March 15, 1922

Thomas, the Maine State Superintendent of Public Schools, writes MacDonald regarding schools for children on seacoast islands. Thomas writes that many families prefer to send their children to the mainland for schooling and suggests that this plan could be adopted for the following year. He also states that, for those places that do not care to send their children to the mainland and where there is a sufficient number of children, the state will establish full time schools.
